For my development edit I decided to photograph a battered shoe. The aim of my edits was to show that the shoe reflects the persons life and the daily struggles they encounter. The first set of images below were my original development edits which I edited to show the life struggle. I decided these didn't tie in well with my project and it didn't challenge me enough as these where simply images of shoes what anyone could take, so I developed this idea further by using my images from the original shoot and layering them underneath the image of the shoe. To edit them I laid the image of the shoe over the top of the homeless man I then made it into a filter this enhanced the colours and made it slightly transparent creating the colourful effect you can see below. I therefore decided not to add a black and white filter which I usually would do in my project as I felt like the vibrant filter which is applied over the shoe gave the images an interesting look. I felt as though the colour showed that he isn't just this plain black and white character who has nothing going for him, but instead it shows his personality and his charm. A lot of people see homeless people to be boring as they do the same thing all day everyday, they are very down in the dumps. If these people were living under different circumstances would they be different? I believe they would. I tried to show this through colour and personality.
