I have no artist for this shoot as it is based entirely based on my imagination. The aim of my shoot is to demonstrate violence and crime through the tragic events of 9/11. I did this because I feel violence and crime is something everyone is aware of and I feel as though the images I have created have a relatable message as everyone was touched my 9/11 through a direct link or even as an outsider looking in.
To do this I focused on the emotion on my models' faces and the subject of the layers I've added over the top. To take the images below I stood my models in front of a plain white background with lots of natural light surrounding them. I used a low ISO so there is a high quality image with no noise. I also used a fast shutter speed to create a still image as it's harder for living people to stay still long enough. I also set a wider aperture to let the light in, this gives my images a shallow depth of field however this is not visible as the background is plain. To edit these images I took a normal side profile picture of my models and put it in photoshop. I also added the pictures of either smoke and buildings or newspaper articles to the overall photoshop file and put them underneath where the head is. I then used the quick selection tool to select the head area and used a low opacity rubber which was large with soft edges to gradually rub out sections of the portrait that was on top, revealing the articles below. I added a filter to make the colour in the images dulled down and black & white in some areas which enables the shoot fit in with my project as I use a lot of dull black and white images throughout. However, I did leave some areas in colour in order for them to stand out e.g. in the newspaper edits the headlines and images of the twin towers are in colour to emphasise them. In all images the faces are in colour this is to show the facial expressions clearly. Edits are shown below (click to enlarge).

As development I decided to mount the edits I have already done onto a newspaper background. I feel as though it represents the media and the vast coverage the media gives to events like 9/11 or any crime as a whole really. The media plays a key role in the society's reaction to crime and deviance so I feel as though it controls us and the way we react is shown in the expression and posture of the models in my images.
