Own idea shoot three;
My initial plan for this shoot was to represent the idea of control and being trapped. I planned to represent this through being "trapped in a puddle". I decided to take pictures of my model looking into puddle and then remove the real version of her so only the reflection existed, to me this represents how we are controlled and trapped well and shows us how we can never stray to far without water. I did this by simply taking images of my model looking into a puddle, I used a fast shutter speed and wide aperture to let a lot of light in and keep a still image this is key when photographing water. To edit the images I used the clone tool to remove her from the image. I then made the image black and white and played around with the colour levels before adding final touches like brightness and contrast. These are the images you see first. I decided these weren't quite what I wanted because you couldn't really see any details and on first glance I couldn't personally see the model at all therefore I decided to redo the shoot in a different way. The second set of images fit into the same brief I had set myself as the model still only exists in the reflection of the water and the glass, this emphasises the control water has over us, this also shows the translucent theme well as my model is still seen however the appearance is distorted. I used the same camera settings as I did for the first set of images as the lighting and weather conditions where the same. I used a dark car window to take the images as I felt this gave the clearest image. To edit the images I simply added a black and white filter to the images and changed the brightness and contrast to make certain parts of the image more or less visible.

Development work
The idea behind the development edits below was basically the same as the original shoot however portrayed in a different way, the epitome of control. The model's expression and position in the images was planned to represent distress and helplessness key factors in the idea of this shoot. This development isn't related to water however this is deliberate to show it doesn't have to be seen to be there, e.g. we are roughly 60% water as humans. This shoot also links well into the theme translucent due to the inclusion of the mirror , she is representing being trapped within the mirror this links to the main shoot because, they too, portray the same message.
To take the images I used a fast shutter speed and wide aperture as I wanted a still image yet the bathroom was quite low lit and dull. To edit the images I used two sets of images; some where she is present (in the reflection) and some where she is not. I then layered the two, putting the one where she is present on top and rubbing out the area around the mirror. I then put the remainder of the image (mirror only) over the mirror on the other image and scaled it to fit. This then makes it seem as though she only exists within the mirror. I then added a black and white filter and increased the brightness and contrast of the images.
